Hi there! We’re the Parsons. Frequent visitors of St. John, USVI we decided to try something new; chartering a catamaran. We began with crew charters, fell in love, then decided to do it ourselves. Even though we live in land-locked Indiana (where is that again?) we fell in love with the boating life.
We attended Offshore Sailing School as a family. While I’d love to say it was a beautiful, family-bonding experience, it was quite the opposite. I mentioned we live in Indiana right? Not much boating going on here. We had little to no experience other than what our former captains taught us. After much trial & tribulation here we are, and we can’t wait to get back on the boat every time we leave it.
One of our favorite parts for those who have tweens/teens – the kids are forced to spend time with you and stay off their phones! With that said, they are welcome to leave the cockpit when mom & dad are ready for their sundowners. Painkiller anyone?
